Uzés, a place from the fairy tales
I came to Uzés through a house exchange several years ago, and I had no idea where the town was located or any history from the area at all. I just felt a curiosity to visit this part of France that was located in the borderland between Provence and Languedoc.
Uzés is characterized by food, wine and artistry with beautiful galleries, ceramics and other small shops with handicrafts from the area.
In the large, beautiful square, you find a daily market, with local food as the theme. On Saturdays, the city explodes thanks to a huge region market, where you can find pretty much everything. As a tourist, you need to be out on time, as French markets open early in the morning and ends in the middle of the day.

Uzés calls itself the capital of truffle and the famous wine district of Chateauneuf-du-Pape is just 40 minutes away.
30 minutes away you find the famous Point du Gard, which was built during Roman century to transport water between Uzés and Nimes.
